Our latest adventure ties all the above together as we embark on a new journey as the new owners of Young & Wyse Winery. Darrell Endresen - Owner
While Vancouver is Darrell’s place of birth, he spent his formable years in Alberta earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta in 1983. He is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA), qualifying in 1986. Darrell moved back to the west coast in 1987 and started a family and a career spanning 36 years of professional financial advice to auto dealerships and their family ownership. All while growing a family of five including three kids Justin, Dane & Cassandra. A love for the Okanagan, wine and family has transformed a man in a suit to a person with a deep respect for the passion of farming and wine making. Darrell is elated to be working and sharing this dream of vineyard and wine with his family.
Pamela Endresen - Owner
A love for family, friends and wine is something Pamela cherishes. Whether travelling in Italy, France or California's Napa valley and Sonoma or an invite from over the fence to the neighbour’s for a glass; wine was always part of the experience. When her daughter decided to explore the wine industry six years ago in Oliver/Osoyoos region we all fell in love. The beauty of the vineyard on a sunny day and the sharing of food and wine as well the great community experience of the wine industry sparked a dream. We are so excited to be able to embark on this journey as a family. We can’t wait to be a part of this community and the amazing region. The possibilities seem endless.

Dakota Hood - Winemaker and Vineyard Manager/Owner
The beautiful Osoyoos, BC was where Dakota was born and raised with his lovely parents Jacquelyn & Keith Hood and his brother Dylan Hood. Dakota has been front row seat in seeing the winery and vineyard industry flourish over the past 27 years. Before starting his journey into the wine world he started his venture into trades, he knew he wanted to be hands on & the trades occupation ran in the Hood family. When Dakota would see his wife Cassandra come home from work at her winery job, smiling from ear to ear - he knew this was the industry he needed to be a part of.
Cassandra Hood - Winery Manager/Owner
Cassandra's love for Hospitality started when she was 14 years old,
her hospitality journey started in the restaurant industry on the coast; from the beginning Cassandra enjoyed hosting events, this lead her to enroll in the Event Management Program at the Art Institute Vancouver. Although the city was all she knew, Cassandra felt she needed a change of scenery. The interest in the wine industry sparked early, with discussions at Sunday dinner of what wine should be paired with the meal. In 2017, she packed up her life on the coast, her parents joined her for a road trip to Oliver BC where Cassandra started her wine career at Hester Creek Estate Winery. Cassandra has dreamed of opening her own winery, and having guests feel at home as soon as they walk through the front door, after 6 years in the wine industry the dream is becoming a reality.

Growing up in the beautiful valley makes it a certainty to fall in love with farming. Cassandra and Dakota have always had a love of wine & learning where it all began. They could easily lose track of time doing yardwork and discussing the world of wine. This is where the story of not only Cassandra and Dakota starting their dream winery journey but also alongside Cassandra's parents Darrell and Pamela Endresen.
THE VINEYARD
The vineyard is located on a bench, overlooking beautiful Osoyoos Lake. The planting is on sloping terraces and consists primarily of sandy loam soil. The southwesterly exposure offers long days of sunlight hours. The cooling effect from the lake balances the heat from the day, which is optimal for grape and vine growth. All of our wines are produced from fruit grown at our vineyard.
At Young & Wyse are pleased to present their limited collections of estate, handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Black Sheep, a proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Our collection of whites include a Viognier, Gewurztraminer and an Amber, a Barrel Aged Viognier.
